Country on the Eye: A New Music Festival Comes to Play Close Park

The Melton Mowbray Town Estate is proud to host the inaugural Country on the Eye festival in June 2026, bringing two days of country music to the historic setting of Play Close Park.

Taking place on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 June 2026, the festival celebrates original artists from the UK and the US, combining world-class live music with community spirit, heritage and the beautiful riverside surroundings of the River Eye.

Alongside live performances, visitors can enjoy a dedicated Acoustic Tent, workshops, Americana-inspired food and drink, and family-friendly festival activities. With nearly 500 years of history, the Town Estate is delighted to support an event that blends cultural celebration with Melton Mowbray’s rich heritage.

Country on the Eye marks an exciting new addition to the town’s events calendar, welcoming music lovers from across the region and beyond.
