Can I book venues or spaces managed by the Melton Mowbray Town Estate for events?

Food & drink & traders
- Food and drink are provided at all events in the Event Village
- No food or drink may be brought into the Events Village unless proof of medical need is provided at the entrance.
- Strictly no glass containers within the Events Village
- Bar/licensed area: We will be operating Challenge 25 at all events organised by the Town Estate:
- Acceptable Forms of ID: To be valid for an age-restricted sale, the ID must feature a photograph, a date of birth, and a holographic mark. Generally, retailers accept: Valid passports, Photocard driving licences (provisional or full), Official ID cards from EU states, Photographic military ID, Proof of age cards bearing the official PASS (Proof of Age Standards Scheme) hologram.

Getting here - Play Close Park
- Nearest car parks to Play Close Park are:
- Mucky Lane, free on Sundays 1 min Walk)
- Wilton Park is also free on Sundays (1 min walk)
- Some events will have specific access for event vehicles; please use the car parks in the area or public transport
- Blue Badge/accessible parking provision is available at both Mucky Lane and Wilton Park
- Nearest bus routes and stops
- For Play Close Park in central Melton Mowbray, the nearest and most convenient bus stops are located right at the Wilton Road/Waterfield Leisure Pool area and on St Mary’s Way. Both hubs are just a short 2 to 5-minute walk from the park grounds.
- The following services stop directly near Play Close:
Arriva Midlands: Service 5A (Leicester – Melton) stops at St Mary’s Way.
Centrebus (Town routes): Services MC1, MC2, MC3, MC4, and MC5 loop around the town centre and stop at St Mary’s Way or Windsor Street, both of which offer quick access to the park.
Centrebus (Regional routes): Services 8 (Grantham), 19 (Nottingham), LC1 (Oakham), and LC8 (Loughborough) stop in the town centre on Wilton Road or nearby.

- Melton Mowbray Railway Station is the closest train station and is only a 3-minute walk
- Bikes are permitted, but there is no dedicated parking
- The taxi drop-off point is at Mucky Lane

- Most events are family-friendly/suitable for children, but please check in advance
- All under-14s must be accompanied by an adult
- There is no dedicated childrens’ area in the Events Village
- The Events Village is Buggy/pushchair accessible – the surface is grass and tarmac
- Baby-changing facilities are provided on site
- Lost children policy/meeting point is at the Organiser’s Desk by the main entrance

- Only the following service dogs are permitted in the Events Village, proof will be required for entry

On-site facilities
- Temporary toilets are provided within the Events Village
- Accessible toilets are located alongside temporary toilets
- All toilets have baby-changing facilities
- First aid is located at the Organiser’s Desk by the entrance
- Seating is provided for all the events in the Events Village as bench and tables.
- For cinema nights, please bring your own seating – chairs, blankets, etc
- This event is open-air, and therefore, there is no covered area
- There are ATMs located in the town centre – a 2 min walk
- Please hand in any lost property to the Organisers Desk by the entrance. It will be kept at the Town Estate office and will be posted on Facebook. It will be kept for 2 weeks and then disposed of.

Weather & cancellation policy
- Weather may affect the event opening or cancellation in the case of floods, high winds or electrical storms
- Cancellation in advance is based on weather forecasts and warnings from the Met Office
- Cancellations or changes will be communicated on social media channels, the Melton Mowbray Town Estate website, and by email list
Safety & behaviour
- Behavioral Expectations: Attendees are required to act respectfully and lawfully at all times.
- Violence & Intimidation: Physical violence, fighting, and intimidating or threatening behaviour toward other guests or event staff.
- Harassment & Abuse: Discriminatory language, sexual harassment, and racist or homophobic chanting.
- Intoxication: Being excessively drunk or under the influence of illegal drugs.
- Dangerous Crowding: Throwing items on stage or into the crowd, climbing barriers and equipment
- The events operate under the Melton Mowbray Town Estate premise licence. Sale of alcohol is operated under licence by the event organiser
- Any person 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult
- Guests are welcome to take photos and shoot videos, and especially to share images and videos with the Town Estate on social media.
- Drones, flying toys, and radio-controlled craft are not permitted at the Events Village.
- Audio recording of the acts is not permitted
- No filming is permitted on Cinema nights
- Smoking is allowed in our outdoor spaces
