Melton Mowbray Town Estate honoured with Leisure and Tourism Award at Melton BID Business Awards

The team at Melton Mowbray Town Estate is celebrating a significant achievement after winning the award for Leisure and Tourism.
The team is incredibly proud to receive this honour, which recognises the Town Estate’s dynamic approach to making Melton Mowbray a premier destination for visitors. The award is a testament to a strategy that not only preserves the town’s cherished assets but also actively attracts new visitors through a vibrant calendar of events.
This year has seen the Town Estate successfully launch its first-ever music festival, Melton Pop Fest, and introduce the hugely popular Melton SKA Fest, both of which have brought thousands of new visitors into the town centre, alongside the management of our bustling twice-weekly markets, and then there’s the upcoming Hell-oween and Victorian Christmas Market.
The Leisure and Tourism category was fiercely contested, and we were honoured to be nominated alongside two other cornerstones of Melton’s visitor experience. We extend our warmest congratulations to the other finalists: the award-winning guided tours of History Fare and the world-famous heritage of Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe.
Graham Bett, chair of the Melton Mowbray Town Estate Feoffees, made the following statement:
“We are absolutely delighted to receive the Leisure and Tourism award. A huge thank you to the Melton BID for creating these awards to celebrate our town’s fantastic business community. It was an honour to be nominated with such outstanding local treasures as History Fare and Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe, whose work is essential to Melton’s unique identity. This award recognises our strategic effort to bring new energy and visitors to the town. Through major new events, such as the Melton SKA Fest, and collaborations with Melton Borough Council and the BiD on our upcoming Victorian Christmas Fair, we are actively increasing foot traffic, which benefits all local businesses. This is a win for the whole town, and it reinforces our commitment to making Melton Mowbray an exciting and welcoming destination for everyone.”
This award inspires us to continue our work for the benefit of the town’s citizens, a tradition we have proudly upheld since 1549. Thank you to the community for your wonderful support.
