Melton Pop Festival wraps up with family fun and stellar feedback

The inaugural Melton Pop Festival ended on a high note at Play Close Park, drawing families and music-lovers with top-tier tribute acts, vibrant entertainment, and glowing audience feedback.
A dedicated festival-goer praised the event on Facebook, calling it “great fun” and applauding the music tributes as “excellent—well done to all involved.” The Melton Mowbray Town Estate team also thanked attendees, saying, “We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who came out to Melton Pop Festival today.”

Among the standout features were Kaylie Malone’s energetic Taylor Swift tribute, Jack Shepherd’s Ed Sheeran set, Glenn Owen as Bruno Mars, and Amanda Jones’ vivid Billie Eilish performance.

Beyond the stage, the event delivered family-centric attractions, from inflatables and soft play to street food, face painting, fairground rides, and roaming performers, all accompanied by bubbles across the park, creating a festival atmosphere that resonated with attendees of all ages.

One parent shared appreciation for organising staff, saying, “It was amazing … just what Melton needs more of.” This sentiment reflects the success of an event designed for local families and regional visitors alike.

Melton Pop Festival welcomed over 1,300 guests across six crowd-pleasing hours. Organisers say the positive feedback and healthy attendance demonstrate strong demand for accessible, high-quality outdoor events in Melton Mowbray.

Melton Mowbray Town Estate CEO, Dean Rees, commented, “Melton PopFest is the first time the Town Estate has produced an event like this, and we are pleased it was so warmly welcomed. It took a lot of hard work from many people. There were lessons learned and things we will build on for next year. It was a community-driven event from start to finish. Residents and visitors embraced Melton Pop Festival and made it a day to remember. The online feedback shows we’re on the right track to bring more accessible, fun cultural events to town.”
