The rhythm returns: Why we’re bringing Melton Ska Fest back for 2026
At Melton Mowbray Town Estate, we have always believed that our parks are more than just green spaces—they are the heart of our community. Last year, we took a leap of faith with the inaugural Melton Ska Fest, and the response blew us away. Seeing over 1,800 of you dancing together in Play Close Park was a moment we won’t forget.
Now, we are thrilled to announce that we’re doing it all again. On Saturday, 25th July 2026, Melton Ska Fest returns bigger, bolder, and more soulful than before.
Why Ska? For us, this isn’t just about the music. Ska, Reggae, and 2-Tone are built on the values of connection and expression. It’s music that brings people together, regardless of background, to “get together and feel alright.” As a charity dedicated to the town’s citizens, those values are exactly what we strive to promote.
What’s New for 2026? We listened to your feedback from 2025. This year, we’ve worked hard to meticulously handpick a lineup that represents the very best of the UK scene. We are honoured to welcome The Beat, featuring Ranking Junior, carrying the torch for one of the most influential bands in British history.
This year, our friends at Boot Boy Radio are teaming up with Trojan Sound International. If you’ve never experienced an authentic Jamaican sound system in person, you are in for a treat—the power and the history of those vinyl 45s will be the heartbeat of the park all day long.
Every ticket you buy does more than just grant you entry to a great show. As a registered charity, we generate revenue from festivals like Ska Fest, which helps us maintain our beautiful parks and fund free-to-attend community events throughout the year.
So, are you ready to move your feet to the beat? We certainly are. We can’t wait to see our “Ska Family” back on the grass this July.
