Playground Refurbishment: Essential Maintenance Notice

Dates: Monday, 27th July – Sunday, 2nd August 2026

Status: Temporary Playground Closure

Melton Mowbray Town Estate is pleased to announce an upcoming week of planned refurbishment and essential maintenance work across our park playground facilities.

To ensure our play areas remain safe, vibrant, and fun for all the children in our community, we will be undertaking a series of necessary upgrades, including:

• Equipment Repairs: Fixing general wear-and-tear across popular play structures.
• Fresh Paint: Repainting equipment to give the play area a bright, refreshed look.
• Safety Surface Upgrades: Replacing the porous rubber safety membranes under the rides and swings to ensure long-term drainage, cushioning, and durability.

Important Access Information

To carry out these works safely and efficiently, the main playground will be temporarily closed for one week starting Monday, 27th July.

We fully appreciate that a summer closure is an inconvenience, and our contractors will be working as quickly as possible to complete the improvements and reopen the gates safely. The surrounding parklands and green spaces will remain fully accessible to the public throughout the week.
